Public exhibition in the City of Rijeka - Croatia

In the first week of June 2021 an exhibition of works by students on the topic of solidarity and tolerance was set up in the shop windows of the City of Rijeka (Croatia) on the main street - Korzo! The exhibition is the result of cooperation between children from the Rijeka's First Croatian High School and the program "My place under the sun" designed to provide a stimulating environment for socially and economically underprivileged children, and in the long run contribute to reducing intergenerational transmission of poverty. The aim of the joint work was to empower children to act in the community and to achieve peer cooperation of children of different social backgrounds. With the posted messages and posters, young people invited their fellow citizens to think about the importance of action for general social well being, in order to reduce the isolation of the elderly, exclusion of the poor, violence, inequality and prejudice, and further encourage fellow citizens to support the program My place under the sun. The action involved: teachers and students of Rijeka's First Croatian High School, the Center for the Culture of Dialogue, the City of Rijeka and the association Drugo more.
