International Day of Non-violence

The International Day of Non-violence is observed on October 2nd, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian independence fighter and the "father" of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence. He described non-violence not as passivity or avoiding conflict but an active engagement against injustice and violence through non-violent methods, similar to the active definition of solidarity used with students within our Solidarity is About Youth - SAY project.
