Laws of solidarity are still in force at sea. Arci checks that they are respected

'Arci and the Sailingfor Blue LAB club launch a monitoring mission in the central Mediterranean on board a sailing boat.
The mission left on the 11th of November from Lampedusa, heading south to monitor the world's deadliest maritime border. The aim is to document and witness what happens on these invisible and dangerous routes, alongside the rescue organisations active in the Mediterranean. Obviously, since the laws of solidarity at sea oblige all sailors to rescue a boat in distress, our boats will be equipped in case they encounter shipwrecked sailors or survivors of a shipwreck.
The Sailingfor Blue LAB, a sailing club whose headquarters are its sailing boats, has set up the project ‘All eyes on the Mediterranean’. Its members are sailors with a lifelong connection to the sea, who are also oriented towards social innovation, supporting human rights and protecting the marine environment.
The first mission has already made an extraordinary impact, rescuing 43 people off Lampedusa. The crew of experienced volunteers works in close cooperation with other rescue organisations and authorities to ensure the safety of the shipwrecked people.'
