On Wednesday June 26, the Val-de-Marne federation organized a special day to highlight the projects carried out in their department as part of the SAY operation.

For the first time, the Citizenship Department, in charge of coordinating the SAY operation in their federation, offered the 30 participating structures the chance to create a collective work of art, in addition to sending out postcards.

7 structures, including schools, middle schools and social clubs, responded positively to the call, and were invited to come and present their work during a festive and convivial afternoon. After a brief presentation of the SAY operation and its European dimension, each group of children took to the stage to present their work.

The collective works were very different from one another: a doll representing a “fraternity Venus” from several cultures, a video compiling the pupils' postcards, accompanied by the song “La tendresse” sung by the pupils, a field of poppies, a box with “fraternity” as the key...

A jury, made up of several members of the French education system, the Ligue de l'enseignement and other partner associations deliberated to select the winning work. Their choice was based on the originality, creativity and impact of the work, as well as the involvement of the young people.

After lengthy discussions within the jury, it was the Venus created by the children of a kindergarten in Alfortville that won the prize. The children were rewarded with a trophy, membership of the Ligue, which gives them access to the exhibitions, two books and a charter of secularism for their school.

However, all the children were rewarded for their hard work and dedication to the project!
