Students and youngsters in Rijeka teamed up against inequalities!

In creating a more equal society, we need to empower those with fewer opportunities, provide spaces and chances for them to grow and be able to develop to their full potential. An interesting programme designed in order to provide to socially and economically weaker children a stimulating environment is active in the City of Rijeka in Croatia with a catchy name 'My place under the sun' run by the Centar za kulturu dijaloga NGO. The activities they offer to children are various - learning assistance, informatics, creative workshops, culinary workshops, dance, acting, daily accommodation, sustainable development workshops, excursions, visits to museums, theatres, movie theatres, exhibitions and adequate events.
In the long-run, 'My place under the sun' wants to contribute to the reduction of intergenerational transmission of poverty by strenghtening children and youth. Find out more about the programme here: https://mojemjestopodsuncem.com/
We are very happy to say that this valuable programme has teamed up with one of our Fraternity card schools from Rijeka – students from the school will collaborate with the youngsters from the programme in a joint community action in Rijeka! Children and young people will, through collaborative learning, create posters that will be shown to the citizens of Rijeka at the beginning of June with a public exhibition on the main city street - Korzo. After creating the posters, they will visit the exhibition together. The aim of the cooperation is to network children and young people in order to bridge the gap caused by growing up in different social environments and reduce educational inequalities between them through direct activities.
