Students in Pleternica opt for quality free time!
We are happy to say that six community actions were organized and implemented by students in Croatia in the school year 2021/2022 within BEST. The task for students was to identify a problem in their community and try to react to it in a constructive way - the first story comes to us from the primary school of Fra Kaje Adžića from Pleternica.
The action 'Students for students' brought together students who participate in the work of the Student Council, as well as their colleagues from other classes who wanted to join in with their ideas. As the biggest problem in their community, they noticed a lack of opportunities for quality free time and weakened cooperation between classes especially after the pandemic. In the action of solidarity, students designed activities as part of the school's Project Day when they did not have regular classes - they organized and led music workshops, played social games, street basketball (which was held in the hall to show the need for an outdoor hoop), educational workshops on pets and various quizzes.
The goal of the campaign was to provide fun activities for students between the ages of 7 and 15 in such a way that the students themselves get involved and organize different activities for themselves. Approximately 250 students participated in the activities. The agreement is already there to continue with the organization of these kinds of activities tailored to the students next year as well!
