With a short trip to Orehovec (Croatia), we continue with a series of our stories about student solidarity actions in local communities! Students of Sv. Petar primary school were motivated by the topic of climate change and environmental protection and in their community they identified the problem of waste disposal in Rogosci forest, but also the lack of awareness about the impact of such behavior on the environment. They rolled up their sleeves, put on rubber boots and started cleaning the forest with the help of their teachers, but also other locals! The goal was not only to do a one-off clean-up but to try to change the problem of local forest pollution in the long run - that is why students made information leaflets for their fellow citizens, set up boards with eco messages, and made a film about the problem. They expect that their active engagement in solving this problem will have an impact on the awareness of their neighbours!
